About Brent

Where is Brent? Everyone has heard of Wembley Stadium which lies in the middle of Brent and next door is the recently opened is London Designer Outlet (50 outlet shops, 20 restaurants & 9 screen cinema). Brent is fairly triangular with bottom corner in Kilburn (approx. 3 miles from Marble Arch). Top of the triangle(left hand side of Edgware Road from Marble Arch) is Queensbury, and to the western boundary is Northwick Park Hospital which practically touches another well known location Harrow on the Hill. See map below. Excellent underground (Jubilee & Metropolitan), London Overground and National Rail provide fast access to heart of London, typically approx. 30 mins to Piccadilly Circus.

Profile. Very diverse London Borough. Second highest BAME in country (64%). The Asian / Asian British 33%, Black or Black British 19%, Chinese or Other Ethic group 6.8% and Mixed 5%. Brent has lowest proportion of residents born in UK (45%), but overall a third have been resident in UK for more than 10 years, the highest in UK! Nearly 25% of population is under 19, and 10% over 65. (source Census 2011).

About BSP

BSP is a unique organisation. Schools in Brent created BSP in response to the LA (Brent) deciding to cease non statutory school support services to schools from September 2015. BSP is a member managed organisation, and is fully funded by member schools. BSP provides leading experts to advise School Leaders and Governing Bodies, and provides a range to conferences, and training courses for all levels, The Chair and Vice Chair are both Headteachers. BSP has Partnership arrangements with the local Teaching School Alliances and provides support to designated Specialist Centres who are recognised as being the best in Brent.
